Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Grant Accountant to join their client's team. The Grant Accountant will be responsible for managing grant funding, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position is essential for facilitating the financial operations related to grants and requires a high level of detail and expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly NAV calculations.
  • Maintain general ledger and reconcile cash, securities, and capital activity.
  • Record and reconcile investment transactions, including purchases, sales, income, and expenses.
  • Calculate and post management fees, performance fees, and fund expenses.
  • Perform capital call, distribution, and investor allocation calculations.
  • Prepare period-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, or fund-specific standards.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Coordinate with custodians, administrators, auditors, and tax advisors.
  • Assist with audit requests and deliver required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with fund agreements, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Identify and resolve reconciliation breaks and discrepancies.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in fund accounting, investment accounting, or public accounting.
  • Experience with hedge funds, private equity, real estate, or mutual funds (role-dependent).
  • Strong understanding of NAV calculations and investment structures.
  • Familiarity with GAAP / IFRS and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas).
  • Experience with fund accounting systems (e.g., Investran, Geneva, Advent, Yardi, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
